Portable email client that offers you the possibility to check your email via a removable drive, without having to worry about making the correct configurations on multiple devices
i.Scribe is a portable email client that can be installed on a removable USB, which means that you don’t have to worry about configuring your email on multiple devices. For your convenience, i.Scribe also integrates a calendar and a contacts database.
Not a very attractive GUI that gets the job done
The i.Scribe user interface does not seem to follow the OS X Human Interface Guidelines, so it will not integrate very well with your other apps.
However, you get to make the necessary configurations in no time, connect to your email account (supports most popular mail protocols) and start checking your messages.
i.Scribe packs everything one should expect from an email client: you get to see all the folders associated with your email account, send and receive messages, delete emails or mark them as spam, and so on.
Integrated calendar and contacts database, along security tools
Even if i.Scribe is a portable application, your overall email experience remains the same: you still get to keep tabs on all the contacts that have sent you messages, and you get to schedule events directly from your email.
Worth mentioning is that i.Scribe integrates a bayesian spam filter that will learn in time the types of emails that are to be marked as junk. i.Scribe will automatically start filtering the emails after the user sets more than 100 email messages as spam.
Moreover, i.Scribe employs a custom made HTML control function that lacks network, scripting and executable capabilities. At the same time, the extension of an attachment file will be visible in the attachment lists, and you will not be able to run them directly: any executable file has to be moved to the disk beforehand.
Portable email client that works well with other similar solutions
i.Scribe can import and export email, contacts, or calendar events to popular file formats, such as MBOX, EML, vCard, or CSV, which means that you can effortlessly switch between different email clients as you see fit.
Even though the i.Scribe portability is very appealing, the outdated user interface might drive away users accustomed with the OS X look and feel.
