Block DDoS attacks by setting IP restrictions, monitoring network and traffic data, capturing packet data and more using this security tool
D-Guard Anti-DDoS Firewall is a security application that installs a firewall to replace the Windows Firewall and protect your computer from DDoS and other types of attacks, such as Trojans, DNS, UDP flood and HTTP.
Install a firewall to block DDoS attacks
During setup, the tool installs a driver that it cannot work without and requires you to restart the computer to be able to function properly. It doesn’t automatically turn off the Windows Firewall, though, so you have to do it yourself, in order to prevent any software conflicts that could lead to system stability issues.
After gaining access to the management console of D-Guard Anti-DDoS Firewall, you can check out the system, attack, traffic, IP and data monitors to find out different statistics, such as the computer’s total running and protection time, along with the amount of received and permitted traffic.
Monitor events, set port restrictions, and create whitelists
To block malware attacks, you can manually configure restrictions for the ports to keep opened and to close (via TCP, UDP and ICMP), IP fragment, SYN, UDP and IP flooding, SCon, CC, IDS, ARP, SDDoS and DrDoS. From a different area, it’s possible to create whitelists with specific IP, DNS and ARP addresses to allow for establishing network connections. Log details can be inspected with the name, type and time of event.
Furthermore, D-Guard Anti-DDoS Firewall can be instructed to capture packet data (on the spot or regularly). You can also protect the tool with a password to prevent other people with access to your computer from modifying its settings. The firewall can be controlled remotely.
Comprehensive DDoS blocker for advanced users
The security tool worked smoothly on Windows 10 in our tests. It barely consumed system resources. However, it was a bit sluggish at displaying options in the management console. Nevertheless, D-Guard Anti-DDoS Firewall comes bundled with practical tools for blocking DDoS attacks, especially for experienced PC users who prefer to control each configuration property.
